Well that is exactly what my good friend DR. Shanta Dube and I both kept asking ourselves before we embarked on a path of mindfulness. Dr. Dube is a certified Mind-Body Medicine practioner and I have been teaching Inuitive Art skills at workshops and in my studio for the last several years.
Here is a quick definition of Mind-Body Medicine to give you a better understanding of our goals for practicing mindfulness.
Mind-Body Medicine focuses on the interactions between mind and body and the powerful ways in which emotional, mental, social and spiritual factors can directly affect health.
I won't go into a long drawn out story of how this retreat came about, but I will tell you that the universe listens when you speak to it. Shanta and I have developed a retreat program that will help you to explore mindfulness and stress coping skills in a safe creative environment. Some of these techniques include meditation,breathing, chi gong, intuitive art, journaling, self compassion and more.
